OCD or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is often attributed by many as being stingy on cleanliness. While there may be some truth to that, it is not the whole of the matter. This disorder is characterized by a person’s compulsions and obsessions of specific things, and not just for cleaning. Obsessions are often distressing thoughts that will not just go away and makes a person fixated on doing something to stop the worries. Compulsions are behavior that a person does repeatedly to relieve anxiety. This fixation on relieving anxiety can disrupt a person’s life and relationships.
OCD is often treated through a mixture of psychotherapy and medications.
